Breastfeeding - Welcome Scheme
an easy way to say "welcome" to breastfeeding mothers

Taking action

Here is a short checklist of the basic things you need to do to become breastfeeding welcome. If you are based in Bromley, Camden, Kensington & Chelsea or Tower Hamlets, when you can tick all the boxes, fill out this form to tell us you are now breastfeeding welcome.  We will then promote your venue to mothers in your area through the website and send you a sticker to put in your premises window.

The breastfeeding welcome venue checklist

1. Do you have a written breastfeeding policy that all staff are aware of?

2. Do you train your staff to welcome and support breastfeeding mothers?

3. Will you let women breastfeed babies in any public area of your venue?

4. Will you display signs and symbols that make it clear that your premises is breastfeeding welcome?

5. If you provide a separate room, is it clean and comfortable, with a chair, clearly signposted for breastfeeding and near (but not in) a baby changing area or toilet?
